Roma boss Garcia makes plea to fans not to walk away

AS Roma boss Rudi Garcia has urged fans not to abandon them.

Garcia is under huge pressure after Roma's dumping from the Europa League last week.

"Does the team have the right attitude? Obviously yes. The quality of a group is above all seen in moments of difficulty. I always fight against the risk of resting on your laurels. Now everyone knows they must give their all. We must fight, all together."

The ultras at first walked out of the Curva Sud during the Fiorentina game, then stormed back in for the final 10 minutes to hurl abuse at their own players.

"As Keita said before Thursday's game, a club is made up of many identities, including the team and the fans. We must keep the lines of communication open.

"A player works better if he feels the support of the fans. If they are against him, then certain moves come out worse.

"The proof is the one-on-one Gervinho had with Neto on Thursday. At the start of the season he certainly would've scored. We are the first to be disappointed by this situation.

"We must maintain the open dialogue with the fans, with reciprocal respect. I will always be behind my lads in public, while in the locker room I can be hard on them."
