AS Roma are launching a bid for Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka.

Roma chief Walter Sabatini is turning to Corluka after being frustrated in his pursuit of Manchester City's Stefan Savic, who appears set to join Sporting Lisbon next month.

Roma want Corluka as a replacement for knee injury victim Nicolas Burdisso and are willing to cough up to sign the Croatian permanently.
