Roma have approached Liverpool about the availability of Xherdan Shaqiri.
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports Roma quickly made a move for Shaqiri after learning of Nicolo Zaniolo's ACL injury. The young midfielder is facing at least six months out of action.
In response, Roma have sounded out Liverpool for Switzerland attacker Shaqiri.
However, the Giallorosso received short shrift, with manager Jurgen Klopp insisting the midfielder must stay.
AS Roma today asked for Xherdan Shaqiri on loan as Zaniolo replacement (he’s now injuried). Liverpool refused to loan him out on January. No chance. #LFC#Shaqiri — Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 13, 2020
