Chris Rolfe has revealed that he had some interest from clubs in Europe before making the decision to head back home to the Chicago Fire.

The 29-year old striker re-signed with the MLS club on the weekend after a stint with Danish outfit Aalborg and admits he is delighted to be back in familiar surroundings.

"I signed the official papers (Sunday)," he told the Chicago Tribune.

"There were some teams (in Europe) that were interested, but I talked to my agent and my family (and we decided coming to Chicago) would be the best choice.

"Just driving in and seeing the stadium, I got butterflies."
