Chicago Fire have announced that striker Chris Rolfe has returned to the club following a stint in Denmark with Aalborg.
The 29-year old left Chicago for Aalborg in January 2010 but is now back as a free agent as the Fire, who are in major need of some goalscoring power, look to improve on their three goals in four outings so far this season.
Rolfe, who scored six goals in over 30 league appearances for Aalborg, admitted his delight at coming back to Toyota Park to help his former club whilst head coach Frank Klopas was thrilled to have the 10-time USA international back in Bridgeview.
Klopas added: "Chris is a proven goal scorer with experience in MLS and abroad. Chris will help us as we push for the MLS Cup Playoffs and we are happy to welcome him back to the club.""I'm thrilled to return to Chicago and play for the Chicago Fire," Rolfe said in a statement. "The Fire has always been a special place for me. I look forward to getting in and putting in the work to help the team."
