Jay Rodriguez is still targeting his comeback with Southampton this season.

The 25-year old striker has been sidelined for just over a year after sustaining a serious knee injury against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on April 5 last year.

Rodriguez has been working extremely hard in training in a bid to make his return before the end of the season and coincidentally, he could be back in action when the Saints meet City away on the final day of the campaign.

The south coast club head to the Etihad on May 24 and Rodriguez is looking to make an appearance at the venue where he suffered the injury as well as making his Saints debut on the opening weekend of the 2012/13 season.
