Rodgers: Celtic signing Kouassi Eboue gives me same feeling as Coutinho, Sterling

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers says new addition Kouassi Eboue excites him just like a pair of his former Liverpool players did.

The Glasgow giants are set to officially sign the teenage Ivory Coast midfielder from FC Krasnodar once the appropriate work permit has been obtained.

Rodgers is thrilled with the arrival of Eboue and admits he feels just like he did when he first worked with Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling (now with Manchester City) at Anfield.

"He is one of those young players I look at with the same feeling I had as when I saw a young Coutinho or a young Sterling. Within 10 seconds you see his talent," Rodgers told the Evening Times.

"He is one, obviously, the scouting team have been aware of. Most coaches see something in a player that suits their way of working.

"But there are certain attributes in a young player you can see and you get a good feeling. This boy has that."

Eboue, 19, has been training with the Hoops during their winter camp in Dubai.
