Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers admits former club Swansea City are ahead of them in terms of culture.
He believes the embarrassment of Liverpool lying below the Welsh club in the table merely highlights what he must do at Anfield... and the value of a consistent, long term policy.
"Swansea have a ready-made philosophy that has been there for a number of years and everybody understands the way they work and function and they function very well," he explained.
"Here we are trying to create something and when you see games like the Young Boys one [on Thursday, where Liverpool twice let leads slip to draw their latest Europa League group game] it shows we still have a lot of work to do, but in the meantime it is about showing steel resilience and commitment.
"I cannot question the players in that. It is just at critical moments we have to be that wee bit more clever. That will come because we have a lot of young players in there who are still learning. But it will take time."
