Robbie Keane competes with Wilder for Portsmouth job

Tottenham hero Robbie Keane is a shock contender for the managerial position at Portsmouth.

With Pompey having fired Danny Cowley earlier this month, and having won a single game since September, the club are in dire need of a permanent boss.

Per the Daily Mail, ex-Middlesbrough and Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is still the favorite with bookies to take the job.

However, Sky Sports states that Keane is a genuine option for the role.

He was in attendance as Pompey lost to Tottenham in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

He will likely have discussions with Pompey's hierarchy in the coming week to assess if he is suitable for the role.
