Rob Holding admits Arsenal a far happier place this week

Arsenal defender Rob Holding admits London Colney is a far happier place this week.

Holding admits the whole mood at the club has changed after back-to-back wins over Chelsea and Brighton lifted them away from a relegation scrap.

When asked what his wish for 2021 would be, Holding said: “Better than 2020 I think for everybody in the world! But fingers crossed we can climb the league and get back into European places and push on.

“It is a massive confidence boost for us. Obviously we went through that really rough patch, but as soon as we got a win it gave us a lift.

“Now we've got another win and hopefully now we can go on a bit of a run, pick up points and climb up the table."

Against Brighton, Arsenal produced a Premier League best for this season as Alexandre Lacazette scored within 21 seconds of coming on.

Holding believes it was time Arsenal had a change in luck and also says the result means no-one is complaining about the Christmas schedule.

Holding added: “No, it was okay. To be fair, Brighton had it tough. I think they had 48 hours in between their games. We had that extra day to recover, which helped.

“Laca came on and made the difference, got the goal. But I think our last couple of games when we have lost, we have had so many attempts and not scored. But if we have two touches in the box and still win, I'll take that all day."
