Former Juventus star David Trezeguet is in talks with Palermo about a Serie A return in January.
Trezeguet is currently playing in Argentina with River Plate.
"I will not hide the fact I had contact with Pietro Lo Monaco, but at the moment these are just informal discussions," agent Antonio Caliendo told Palermo24.net.
"Lo Monaco is a friend and someone I respect. We have spoken to Palermo and they are interested in a January move for David. There's not much concrete as yet, but I won't rule anything out. Lo Monaco is the right director to take on negotiations like this.
"Yes, David really has decided he wants to return to play in Europe. I know the River fans are working to keep him in Argentina, but due to personal reasons he wishes to be closer to France.
"In any case, I have not spoken to him specifically about Palermo or other destinations yet. For now the idea is just to be back in Europe and we still need to work out what to do and evaluate the offers."
