River Plate striker David Trezeguet admits he was rejected by Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri.

Trezeguet was keen on moving to Napoli earlier this season.

"Me joining Napoli was a beautiful idea," the 34-year-old told Sky Sport Italia. "It could have been a positive experience for me and Napoli given their Champions League commitments.

"I think I could have given them something extra with my experience, but their Coach didn't want me."
