River Plate striker Mariano Pavone remains hopeful of a move to Blackburn Rovers.
Rumours of rival interest from Swansea City were dismissed by chairman Huw Jenkins yesterday.
The Mirror says Pavone is now hoping Blackburn - where he agreed terms and passed a medical last week, only for the club's bank to put a block on the deal - will come back in for him.
Rovers manager Steve Kean has flown to India for a summit with the club's Indian owners over their lack of new faces.
