River Plate are chasing a deal for Brighton wing-back Ezequiel Schelotto.

River coach Marcelo Gallardo hopes to bring Schelotto back to Argentina as they seek to add to this year's Copa Libertadores finalists.

TNT says the Argentine giants hope to secure the veteran on a free transfer next month.

Schelotto, an Argentine born and raised Italy international, has battled for first team action under Brighton manager Graham Potter this season.

Along with Seagulls, the veteran has also played for Atalanta, Inter Milan and Sporting CP.
