Riise slams Liverpool stars and wonders why Everton midfielder still playing

John Arne Riise did not take a backwards step when answering questions from fans on Twitter on Monday.

The former Liverpool left-back, currently playing in the Indian Super League with Delhi Dynamos, felt that some current Reds players needed to do a lot more to prove themselves to new manager Jurgen Klopp.

Raise spoke of Daniel Sturridge, Jose Enrique, Roberto Firmino and a former Premier League opponent during the Q&A.

When asked: "How successful do you think Sturridge will be under Klopp?", Riise replied: "Needs to step up his work rate with Klopp."

Riise also hammered left-back Enrique when one fan asked: "Any way back for Jose Enrique at LFC?". The Norwegian responded bluntly: "Hope not."

There was also a touch of negativity for summer arrival Roberto Firmino: "Should Firmino start again as soon as he's fit?". Riise: "Needs to show more."

But the biggest blast came for current Everton midfielder Gareth Barry.

Riise was asked his opinion on the former Aston Villa and Manchester City man. His response: "Can't believe he still plays in the PL."

So it's safe to say the Champions League winner probably has not won himself too many fans, but he did reserve special praise for some of his former teammates including Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Sami Hyypia and Fernando Torres.
