Released Fulham wing-back John Arne Riise is being linked with Aston Villa.
The free agent, now 33, was quoted by VG saying:
"There has been some interest from a few English clubs.
"Aston Villa is one of them. There has been some interest from Spain also.
"But there is nothing on the table yet."
Before Paul Lambert signed Aly Cissokho he checked out a number of left-back options.
