Alberto Moreno is the best left-sided full-back Liverpool have had since John Arne Riise.
That is the sentiment of the Norwegian who spent seven years at Anfield between 2001 and 2008, racking up close to 350 appearances.
Riise told the Liverpool Echo that he feels 22-year old Spaniard Moreno could quite possibly the best player to take up his position on Merseyside since he departed for Roma seven years ago.
"Moreno is my kind of player. He loves to attack. He's quick and he strikes the ball well. He scored a great goal against Tottenham," Riise said.
"A lot of fans on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram tell me that this lad plays like me. I think he's the best left-back Liverpool have had since I left."
Andrea Dossena, Fabio Aurelio, Emiliano Insua, Paul Konchesky, Aly Cissokho and Jose Enrique have all attempted to fill the void left by Riise but Moreno has the ability to actually do so suggests the 34-year old veteran who now finds himself at APOEL Nicosia.
