Albert Riera insists Liverpool teammate Fernando Torres still has a lot of improvement in him.

"Fernando has surprised me. Besides he still has a margin for progress and you can't imagine how important it is to have him within my team," Riera told a Spain press conference.

"He is a player that brings you so much and who is still capable of improving more."

Riera is apparently a massive fan of the striking duo composed of Torres and David Villa, and he said about the European champions: "Villa and Torres are amongst the best partnerships in the world.

"If they are not the best, they are part of the best and their figures speak for themselves."
