Ricoh Arena return for Coventry

League OneCoventry City have agreed a two-year deal to return to their former home, the Ricoh Arena, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The Sky Blues confirmed on Thursday that they have reached an agreement with stadium operator Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) that could yet be extended beyond the initial two years to 2018.

"We are delighted to get this deal done and I am sure every supporter of Coventry City will be thrilled with this news," said Coventry's development director Steve Waggott.

"There has had to be compromise on both sides and the commercial details of the deal will remain confidential.

"The support and guidance from the Football League, and especially from chief executive Shaun Harvey, throughout our discussions was a key factor in achieving the aim of reaching this agreement and getting the football club back to Coventry."

Coventry have been playing their home games at Northampton Town's Sixfields stadium since the start of the 2013/14 season due to a long-running dispute over rent.

The decision to move proved hugely unpopular amongst fans, many of whom have refused to attend games at Sixfields. Last season Coventry attracted an average of just 2,348 spectators per game, the lowest in League One.

As well as thanking Northampton for their hospitality over the past 12 months, Coventry assured fans that they will be kept 'fully informed' about ticketing issues, with further details set to be announced next week.
