Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui has fallen out with Toni Kroos, it has been revealed.

Lopetegui left Kroos on the bench for defeat to Levante on Saturday.

Onda Cero says the coach made the call after Kroos complained to Real president Florentino Perez over the position he was being played.

"I'm not Casemiro," Kroos stated while on international duty with Germany - which is what he told Florentino.

Lopetegui was well aware of the midfielder's moan and made a point by leaving him benched for Saturday.
