Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag turned down the chance to sign PSG midfielder Gini Wijnaldum this summer.
The former Liverpool star has joined AS Roma this week on-loan from the Parisians.
But Sky Sports' Kaveh Solkohol has reported: "I was told that Ten Hag declined the opportunity to pick up Gini Wijnaldum from Paris Saint-Germain.
"Manchester United could sign a player who won the league title and the Champions League with Liverpool.
"But Ten Hag did not want Wijnaldum, while who himself had been open to making the switch."
