REVEALED: Roma signing Yanga-Mbiwa fell out with Newcastle boss Pardew

AS Roma signing Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was happy to leave Newcastle United yesterday after falling out with manager Alan Pardew.

The Evening Chronicle says the former Montpellier man was told that he did not feature in the manager's plans and was behind both Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini in the pecking order.

Yanga-Mbiwa said yesterday: "I am very happy to arrive in Rome. I couldn't wait to arrive. I am ready."

His Toon exit has not gone down well with large sections of the support. Pardew's preference for the more traditional type of centre-back meant that the more cultured former Montpellier skipper was surplus to requirements.
