REVEALED: No UK work permit problems for imminent Man Utd signing Josh Doughty

Imminent Manchester United signing Josh Doughty will avoid UK work permit problems thanks to his British parents.

The Real Salt Lake midfielder, 17, passed a United medical this month and agreed terms with the English giants.

Doughty's parents are both British and while he was born in Canada, his family relocated to the US when he was four years of age.

"I can play for Canada, England and hopefully will be eligible for the USA soon," he said.

"I am still undecided on which team I will play for at the moment.

"I am on schedule to receive my US citizenship in a few months, I am hopeful to have it before I turn 18 in April."

Doughty expects to kickoff his United career with the U21 team.

He also is quoted by owhentheyanks.com: "I will be playing mainly with the United Under 21's, however I might play with the Under 18's to get back up to speed."
