Argentine source: Messi will sign new Barcelona contract; Laporta going for Neymar

Club captain Lionel Messi is ready to sign a new contract with Barcelona.

That's according to Sebastián Pollo Vignolo, of ESPN Argentina, who has reported via Mundo Deportivo that Messi has decided to sign a new deal with Barca and stay. The Argentine's current contract is due to expire in June.

It's claimed Messi will commit to Barca for two years before moving to the US and playing for Inter Miami in the MLS. Messi has just recently bought a second multi-million dollar apartment in Miami.

Vignolo also reports that Barca president Joan Laporta is putting together an attempt to bring Neymar back to the club from Paris Saint Germain.

A first approach has already been made to Paris Saint Germain ahead of the summer market.

Neymar is licking his wounds this morning after he and his PSG teammates were eliminated from the Champions League by semifinal opponents Manchester City. With Barca, Neymar twice won the LaLiga and also the Champions League in 2015.
