Manchester United made a deadline day attempt for Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki yesterday.
As United scrambled to find a striker signing, it emerged they approached Norwich about taking Pukki off their hands before the 11pm deadline.
The Canaries refused to do business, with next to no time to find a replacement for the Finn.
Ultimately, United managed to reach terms with Shanghai Shenhua over a straight loan for Nigeria international striker Odion Ighalo.
Ighalo signs for United to the end of the season.
