Manchester United's young centre-half Tyler Blackett was first seen as a winger as a junior player.
Blackett joined United from Fletcher Moss Rangers, which also has produced the likes of Wes Brown, Danny Welbeck, Ravel Morrison, Ipswich's Cameron Stewart and Swansea's Kyle Bartley.
"He was a tricky and skilful wide player," his former coach Tony Taylor told the Daily Mail.
"Maybe because he was tall and powerful, United saw his potential as a defender."
