Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has been left frustrated after missing out on a deal for PSG fullback Thomas Meunier.

Off contract next week, Meunier has committed to terms with Borussia Dortmund.

However, this wasn't before being charmed by Mourinho and willing to sign for Spurs, reports L'Equipe.

The Belgium international spoke directly with the Spurs manager and was more than happy to sign for Tottenham.

But the deal was blocked by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who was unhappy with the Meunier's demands. This then allowed BVB to step in and secure the defender's commitment.
