France striker Olivier Giroud and Morocco coach Walid Regragui are former teammates.
The pair will meet in the World Cup semifinals 14 years after they were together in Ligue 2 with Grenoble.
At the time, AC Milan striker Giroud was a 22 year-old prospect trying to establish himself in the French game while a 33 year-old Regragui was coming to the end of his career.
Regragui, born in Corbeil-Essones (France), was then a midfielder who, after playing for Racing Santander (2004-07), played two seasons with Grenoble (2007-09).
Morocco and France will meet on Wednesday night in the World Cup semifinal.
