Radamel Falcao will inherit the No9 shirt at Manchester United.
United hinted they were on the verge of a number of big signings by keeping key numbers free.
The number five, seven and nine shirts are all vacant.
Falcao wears the No.9 at Monaco and will follow Andy Cole, Dimitar Berbatov and Louis Saha in taking the shirt.
The Colombia striker, 28, is expected to arrive in Manchester by private jet this afternoon.
