Barcelona made THREE attempts to sign a Premier League striker before turning to Luuk de Jong, it has been revealed.
Barca snapped up De Jong on transfer deadline day on Tuesday from Sevilla.
However, El Chiringuito says the Dutchman's move only happened after Barca made three bids for Premier League strikers.
Manchester United centre-forward Edinson Cavani and Leeds United's Rodrigo were both subject of failed talks with Barca.
The Catalans also expressed interest in Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling, but couldn't raise the necessary funds to convince his club to sell.
