Redknapp surprised by reaction from Liverpool's Crouch

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp admits he was surprised to learn of Liverpool striker Peter Crouch's tirade at Chelsea fans after he was sent-off this week.

Redknapp, who was at the game, said: "I didn't see his reaction but that was totally out of character for Crouch if he did that. We would all like to, sometimes, wouldn't we but we are supposed to keep a lid on it.

"I know it was a bad tackle but that was out of frustration and the fact that he's a forward and doesn't know how to tackle. Now he's banned against us for the red card - but Liverpool will just bring in either (Dirk) Kuyt, the Russian boy (Andriy) Voronin or that kid they found in Spain (Fernando Torres)."
