Redknapp: Spurs fans reception helped 2-goal Crouch

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says the fans played their part in helping Peter Crouch score twice in victory over Stoke City.

The White Hart Lane faithful certainly gave the striker a lift with a rousing reception when his name was announced in the team line-up just before kick-off.

It was Crouch's first appearance since his dismissal at Real Madrid.

"That was massive for us," Redknapp told the Spurs website. "Crouchy got a great reception and he knew the fans were on his side.

"You have to give credit to the supporters of this club.

"I've seen supporters before who would turn on someone if they got sent off but they gave him a great reception and got right behind the team.

"They created a fantastic atmosphere and made the difference. The fans deserve all the credit."
