Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp believes Jamie Carragher is set for a media role after announcing his retirement plans.

Redknapp thinks Carragher, who is always forthright in his opinions, may decide to pursue a career as a pundit having worked for ITV last summer.

"Maybe management, in the media - when he did the World Cup coverage he was exceptional," he told Sky Sports News.

"He's a real student of the game and watches every single football match on television so that's something he might want to do. He has many, many options."
