Redknapp: QPR players convinced me to ditch back three

QPR boss Harry Redknapp admits beating Sunderland came after the players urged him to ditch his back three system.

After being pulled apart in a 4-0 defeat at Spurs last week, Redknapp revealed his men had come to him asking for a switch back to a flat-back four.

Louis van Gaal at Manchester United may be determined to press ahead with the tactics that have left the fallen champions there for the taking, but Redknapp showed himself to be far more receptive to the concerns of his players.

"I'm always open to change." he said "I told them 'If you're not happy we can go back to playing this way and there are no excuses.'

"If you're playing in the system and it suits you because you're in the team as a wing back and there might be another full back who can't play wing back he won't like the system.

"It's always difficult, but I could go back to it (three at the back) quite easily."
