QPR boss Harry Redknapp has left the door ajar for Oguchi Onyewu to stay on at the club after his initial three-month spell.
The 31-year old American centre-back joined the English Championship club as a free agent around four weeks ago and despite not yet making an appearance, could stay around for a little longer according to Redknapp.
"I need cover," Redknapp told reporters last week. "[Onyewu] is a good lad and there are so many games coming, so you never know with injury."
The Washington-born defender has had an up and down career in Europe since kicking off in France with Metz in 2002. Onyewu enjoyed a five-year stint in Belgium with Standard Liege between 2004 and 2009 before gaining a dream move to AC Milan but injuries and form forced him to Dutch outfit FC Twente for a loan in 2011.
The 'Gooch' then found himself in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon before a short loan in Spain with Malaga during the 2012/13 season.
