Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp feels Raheem Sterling isn't helping himself with his antics off the pitch.
Sterling has made frontpage headlines twice this week with off-field controversies.
"Raheem's obviously done a silly thing," Redknapp told the Daily Mirror.
"But he's not the first one to do it. Jack Wilshere was at the centre of a similar story not long ago, but that's been forgotten.
"The problem is it's not ideal when you're in a contractual situation like Raheem is at the moment.
"He's not helping himself or anyone at the moment by saying he's gong to hold out for £100k a week - fans don't like that.
"He's at a fantastic club - they pay well and they look after you. When I was at Liverpool, you were handsomely paid, and it's still the case now.
"I never once had to wait for a contract. I liked it there, so whenever me, Fowler or McManaman were offered a contract, we signed it."
