Jamie Redknapp has criticised former club Liverpool for allowing Jordon Ibe to leave this summer.
The highly promising winger left Anfield for AFC Bournemouth in a £15million earlier in the window and according to Redknapp, it is a courageous move for the 20-year-old to depart such a big club in order to receive regular game time.
In his Top 10 players to follow prediction in the Daily Mail, Redknapp feels Ibe will flourish with the Cherries rather than stagnating on the bench at Liverpool.
“I think Liverpool have made a mistake in letting him go," he opined.
“We've seen from the likes of Paul Pogba and Kevin De Bruyne that young players at big clubs sometimes have to take a step away to succeed.
“Going to Bournemouth is a brave move but a clever one for Jordon.
“He could have stayed at Liverpool and collected his money sitting on the bench but he can be a star for Eddie Howe's side with his tremendous pace.
“He will fill the void left by Matt Ritchie on the wing and if the 20-year-old starts well, an England call-up won't be far away."
