Danish midfielder Brian Nielsen is expected to return to New York Red Bulls on a six-month loan.

The 24-year old Red Bull Salzburg man has had two short-term spells with New York - in 2010 and last year - but injury has restricted him to just three appearances.

However, Nielsen's agent Kim Wacker told jv.dk that another loan agreement will be reached giving his client an extra opportunity at Red Bull Arena.

"He has the injury history here, and therefore they would like to see him six months more,'' a translation of Wacker's comments revealed.

"This (makes) Brian obviously very happy, and now he hopes only that he may come up in gear. Now he will have for the first time an entire winter boot to get (in) shape."
