Real Sociedad winger Januzaj: Why LaLiga the best; learning from Man City great Silva

Real Sociedad winger Adnan Januzaj was back at Old Trafford last week to face former club Manchester United.

The former United midfielder started the second-leg of the Europa League round of 32 tie, with the overall result already settled thanks to La Real's 4-0 first-leg defeat.

However, it was still a special night for Januzaj, who has impressed for La Real this season - where he is now enjoying his football.

Speaking with LaLiga media, the Belgium international was asked about the differences between the Premier League, LaLiga and also the Bundesliga, where he played on-loan for Borussia Dortmund from United.

He said, "In England, it's more physical. Obviously everyone knows that LaLiga is much more technical. In between the spaces you have to play with your head, the players here are very clever.

"In the Bundesliga, if you play for Dortmund or Bayern Munich you'll always have the ball and kill the other teams.

"In Spain, it's more difficult. It's more equal. Every game is very difficult to play, all the teams in Spain can play football, they can score goals."

Indeed, Januzaj insists the LaLiga is the most competitive league he's been involved in.

He added, "For me, the most difficult league is Spain. In my experience. The Premier League also, but if you're in a team that plays very good football and that can create many chances… it's also nice to play in England."

At La Real this season, Januzaj has been joined by Manchester City great David Silva, who arrived in the summer on a Bosman transfer. For Januzaj, playing and training alongside the veteran midfielder, has been a great learning experience.

He continued: "He's a technical player, he's an unbelievable player. Obviously because of what he's achieved in his career. The way he thinks on the pitch… it's different to other players, you know?

"I'm a bit similar to him. I can see passes, he can see passes. At the end of the day, when you play with players who have a similar game to you then you'll have a better understanding on the pitch."

And being in the LaLiga, Januzaj was also asked about the form and fitness at Real Madrid of former Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard. For the La Real attacker, he is adamant Belgium teammate Hazard will come good for Los Merengues.

He concluded: "People maybe don't know Eden well enough here in Spain, but they will. For me, he's one of the best players in the world. I have no doubt about it."
