Real Sociedad's Moyes on Newcastle wish-list

Newcastle United are showing considerable interest in David Moyes according to reports.

The Daily Mirror suggests that the Magpies are looking at the Real Sociedad manager as a potential candidate to take the St James' Park job next season.

Newcastle are in free-fall under caretaker John Carver, having lost their past eight league matches, to be sitting just two points clear of the drop zone with three fixtures remaining.

If the Toon can avoid relegation, it is understood that they will approach former Everton and Manchester United boss Moyes who has been in charge at Sociedad since November.

However, they will have competition from West Ham United who have Moyes as their number one target if they happen to part ways with Sam Allardyce when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
