Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has revealed Arsenal want to buy back Carlos Vela. Aperribay, who traveled to London on the weekend with Real vice-president Angel Oyarzun for talks with Arsenal, admits Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to sign and KEEP Vela next season
There had been talk of Arsenal using the Mexico international as a bargaining chip in their interest for Real winger Antoine Griezmann.
But Aperribay revealed: "They have made it clear that they want Carlos next season in their squad.
"And we have made it clear that we want that Carlos continues with us."
Arsenal can buy back Vela from Real for a set fee of €4.2 million.
