Real Salt Lake unveil USL PRO side Real Monarchs

Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake have officially unveiled the Real Monarchs SLC as their USL PRO outfit.

RSL have entered the Monarchs in US Soccer's third tier competition where they will start competing in the 2015 season, playing their home matches at Rio Tinto Stadium for the first campaign, before moving into their own home.

Monday saw the Monarchs logo and brand presented to the soccer public with RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen over the moon after finally getting the concept off the ground.

"We are committed to providing another asset to our great state of Utah and the Intermountain region, one which will provide career, sporting and entertainment value to all those who wish to work, play and live here," he said in a statement.

"The collective presence of the Monarchs and USL Pro on the Utah sports scene deepens our sport's roots in the community, strengthens the infrastructure supporting our elite MLS team, and marks the latest of many initiatives for soccer in Utah."

Furthermore, the Utah club are also pondering the possibility of fielding a National Women's Soccer League side just as MLS rivals Houston Dynamo and the Portland Timbers have done before them.
