Real Salt Lake have confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Wellington 'Pecka' Paeckart.
The 25-year old has joined the Utah club from NASL side Fort Lauderdale Strikers where he has been since 2011.
RSL technical director Craig Waibel said the addition of Pecka will provide head coach Jeff Cassar with plenty of midfield depth for the 2015 MLS season and beyond.
"Pecka is a very solid midfield presence. He is athletic, ultra-competitive and clean on the ball. He does a great job in the holding midfield role of breaking up passing lanes and finding options to connect the game," Waibel said in a team release.
"I'm excited to bring him in. He gives us some depth for when Kyle Beckerman is gone on international duty, and he's also a guy who can push at a couple other positions. He's also another guy who can be here awhile and be effective for a long time."
Congratulations and good luck to Pecka on his move to @RealSaltLake! pic.twitter.com/n3RvxGODcT
