Real Mallorca coach Manzano in frame for West Ham job

Real Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano is being linked with West Ham United.

The Hammers are seeking a new manager after dismissing Gianfranco Zola this morning.

The Mirror says co-owner David Sullivan is already considering potential candidates to replace Zola - including Mallorca coach Manzano.

He replaces Steve McClaren on West Ham's short-list as the FC Twente boss is expected to take over at German club Wolfsburg.

Other names in the frame for West Ham include Portsmouth manager Avram Grant, Ajax boss Martin Jol and Croatia chief Slaven Bilic.

Experienced Manzano, 54, has had a superb season in Spain guiding Mallorca to fifth in La Liga.

Manzano is respected on the continent after coaching Toledo, Valladolid, Racing Santander, Rayo Vallecano, Atletico Madrid and Malaga.

He was voted Spain's coach of the year in 2008 in his second spell with Mallorca.
