The winger said at the final whistle: "Yes, before this match we said that we had to win against Valencia. We needed the three points. We started the game very well, we were very strong and pressured them."
Robben was impressive on the night and added: "At this moment I am physically very well, which allows me to play at a very high level on the pitch.
"I am glad to be playing well. At the moment I want to help my team and I also want to improve my game on a personal level."
On the prospect of facing Liverpool in the Champions League, Robben said: "I would've preferred Manchester United. Liverpool will be a tougher opponent."
