Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro insists Italy coach Marcello Lippi is wide of the mark when he says there's a shortage of quality centre-backs.

"Time passes for everyone and it has been two years since the World Cup win," said the veteran captain.

"We are waiting for the new faces to come in, even though it is not as if we have an emergency in defence."
