Real Madrid are moving for Atletico striker Diego Forlan.

The Uruguay international, who is also interesting Barcelona, has emerged as a top alternative for Real as they struggle to tie up a deal for Valencia ace David Villa.

Real president Florentino Perez will have to offer near £35 million to land Forlan, who is also on the shopping list of big-spending Manchester City.
