David De Gea has told Spanish media he will return to Manchester United for pre-season training, as speculation about his future continues.

The star goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Real Madrid all summer, yet with five weeks to go until the Premier League season, no bid has been made by the Spanish giants.

Louis van Gaal's men are set to embark on a pre-season trip around the US, and De Gea has confirmed he will join up with the squad ahead of the tour.

The 24 year old told Spanish TV channel Cuatro: "Real Madrid? I have to return to Manchester for pre-season."

De Gea has spent the last three seasons at Old Trafford since arriving from Atletico Madrid.
