Real Madrid still struggling to strike terms with Chelsea target Higuain

Real Madrid are still struggling to find agreement with Gonzalo Higuain over a new contract.

As negotiations continue to drag on, Higuain's father, Jorge, has been in contact with Chelsea about a move to London this summer.

El Confidencial says Higuain is contracted to Real until 2013 on €1.6 million-a-year. The Argentine is seeking €6 million-a-year to stay.

Real's opening offer was for €2.8 million, which saw talks cool. Later, the offer was improved to €3.6 million, but still fell well short of what Higuain is seeking.

The latest offer is €4 million-a-year, which Jorge and Gonzalo Higuain remain unimpressed with.
