Real Madrid star Luka Modric has stated that midfielder Casemiro's penalty in Brazil's World Cup quarter-final defeat by Croatia was outstanding.
Casemiro buried his spot kick in the shoot out against the Croats, but it was not enough, as the European nation booked a spot in the semi final to take on Argentina.
Modric, who was a teammate of Casemiro's for many years at Real Madrid before the latter moved to Manchester United, spoke glowingly of his spot kick.
"I told him [Croatia goalkeeper Livakovic] about Casemiro," Modric told El Chiringuito TV.
"I know where he would have shot his penalty.
“Livakovic went in the right direction but Case is too good."
